At the heart of the Katchoua Foundation’s mission is the unwavering commitment to empowering underprivileged girls and women through essential menstrual hygiene education. Yesterday, we proudly conducted our monthly donation event in Nyom 2, Yaoundé, under the KFMHD (Katchoua Foundation Menstrual Hygiene Day) initiative, themed “Understand Her Menstrual Needs.” This vital program aims to cover all regions of Cameroon, ensuring that more girls and women receive the education and resources they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence.
Nyom 2, Yaoundé
Our recent event in Nyom 2, Yaoundé, was a remarkable success, bringing together women and girls from the local community to learn about menstrual hygiene. The day’s activities included informative sessions on menstrual health, interactive discussions, and the free distribution of sanitary pads. Our dedicated team worked to create a supportive and educational environment where participants felt comfortable discussing their menstrual health and asking questions.
Our efforts align seamlessly with the recent World Menstrual Hygiene Day, celebrated on May 28th under the theme “Together for a Period-Friendly World.” This global day of action emphasizes the importance of creating an environment where menstruation is understood, accepted, and managed with the right resources. By providing ongoing education and free sanitary products, the Katchoua Foundation contributes to this global movement, ensuring that no girl or woman in Cameroon feels isolated or ashamed of her menstrual health.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supports our mission. Your contributions make it possible for us to reach more communities and make a tangible difference in the lives of many women and girls. Katchoua Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to improving menstrual hygiene education across Cameroon. We are always available to reach out to any community in need, especially those in rural areas where access to menstrual hygiene products and education is limited.
