Investing in Menstrual Hygiene and Health at The Apostolic Church – UB South Buea, Cameroon.
Educating more than 100 women and girls on period matters was worth it and the donation of free sanitary pads to 32 internally displaced persons (IDPs), less privileged, and underprivileged women and girls.
Targeting churches to talk about Menstrual Health is a great strategy to fight period poverty across the globe, Christians face barriers to properly manage periods too. This calls for a world free of period poverty and stigma and Katchoua Foundation is ready to build that future through urgent investment and a call for action.

The subject of menstruation is still a taboo and shameful that we need to help break the silence, raise awareness, eradicate period poverty, and change negative social norms surrounding menstrual hygiene even in churches so that women and girls feel empowered to manage their periods hygienically with pride.
The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in economic stress in families that are putting girls and women at a disadvantage rendering people as IDPs.
Katchoua Foundation addressing period poverty in churches reduces their vulnerability to gender-based violence, provides dignity, and increases their voice and participation in economic empowerment.
Katchoua Foundation in Cameroon is championing Menstrual Health and Hygiene through our education and free donation of sanitary pads. Debunking the myths and misconceptions surrounding periods among IDPs, orphans, and street children is a necessity. We pray through our actions for a life in a world where no woman or girl is limited by something as natural and normal as menstruation.
